If you use Bridge, you're going to put real ideas into it. Product ideas. Feature sketches. Half-formed thoughts that might turn into a company. It's fair to want to know what happens to those ideas once you press record.
This post is the plain-English version of the privacy policy. It describes what Bridge actually does with your data, in the order things happen.

What does Bridge store?
When you type, paste or dictate a note into Bridge, two things are stored:
- The note itself, in your own private space on Bridge's cloud infrastructure under your account. This is the sync layer; it's what lets you open the app on another device and see the same notes.
- What Bridge works out from it: its classification (Expandable or Reference), any expansion, and, on Discover and above, the links that place it in your graph and its constellation.
Nothing else from your phone. Bridge does not read your contacts, your calendar, your photo library, or the other notes in your phone's Notes app. If the app crashes, a crash report records the device model, the operating system and app versions, and a random app-instance ID, never your notes.
What goes to an AI model
AI runs as soon as you save a note. Bridge classifies every note automatically, usually within about thirty seconds, and the same run can expand it. Where the text goes depends on how that run is paid for:
- On one of your five free monthly runs, the note goes to Google Vertex AI under Bridge's own Google Cloud account. Bridge pays for those runs, so they run on Bridge's account rather than yours.
- On your own API key, the note goes to the provider you chose: Anthropic, OpenAI or Google. Chat and Build Plans run on your key too, and they send content only when you start them.
- On Discover and above, Bridge also sends each Expandable note's expansion to Google Vertex AI under its own account to compute an embedding, a list of numbers that represents what the note is about. That's how related notes find each other and constellations form, and it happens whether or not you've added a key. Reference notes aren't embedded.
A note waits instead of being sent while your email address is unverified, or while you have no free runs left and no key Bridge can use.
A few things to know about this step:
- Content goes through each provider's API, not its consumer chat product. API usage has stricter data-retention rules than chat usage, and none of the three providers trains on API content by default.
- Your API key is kept encrypted in Google Secret Manager, never on your phone, and it's used only for calls to the provider you chose.
If even API-level processing by a third-party model isn't acceptable for some of your content, as in some regulated or competitively sensitive work, keep that content out of Bridge.
What Bridge does not do
A few things that are easy to assume and are not true:
- Bridge does not sell your data. There is no advertising model, no data broker relationship, no anonymized-analytics-resale pipeline. The business model is subscriptions.
- Bridge does not use your content to train any model, its own or anyone else's. The API providers don't either, by default.
- Bridge does not read your notes as a routine practice. Access to stored content is limited to what running the service and answering a support request you started requires.
- Bridge does not share your content with other users. There is no public feed and no ambient social layer. Your notes are yours.
What you can do
- Get a copy. Email privacy@bridgedev.io from your account's email address, and within one month you get your account details, notes, chats, constellations and a list of your plans as a machine-readable JSON file. Each plan's files download from that plan in the app.
- Delete. Deleting a note removes it from active storage straight away, and from backups within ninety days. Deleting your account removes your content entirely, on the schedule in the privacy policy.
- Choose your provider. You pick which provider handles the AI work on your key. If you prefer Anthropic's data handling to OpenAI's, or the other way round, that choice is yours.
The honest caveat
Bridge is a pre-release product from a small company. We are not a Fortune 500 vendor with a dedicated compliance team. We have written the privacy policy in plain language, and we will not hide material changes: when the policy changes, the app and the site show you the new version and ask you to accept it before you carry on.
